Sue creates her colourful oils in a garden studio overlooking the rolling hills of central Dorset.
On site drawings, in pen, pencil and watercolour with notes about weather, sounds and events are developed into semi abstract paintings.
The work is about mood and atmosphere, it explores underlying structures and the influences at work using colour and tone in a creative and dynamic way.
Her interest is in making an exciting image with a sense of mystery, leaving many questions unanswered for the viewer to ponder.
Sue opens her studio for Dorset Art Weeks and occasionally at other times by appointment. She is also part of one of the most successful Buckinghamshire art week venues, Wycombe Court House. She was recently commissioned to create watercolour works for a TV drama in which one of the characters is a Dorset artist.
Classes and courses for small groups are available in her Ansty studio, please see her website for more details.
Her work is held in collections in Europe, the Far East and South America.
