John Taphouse

John saw army service as a National Serviceman, serving with the Royal Artillery from 1959 to 1961.


His civilian career was as a Chartered Surveyor, now retired.


He has been interest in drawing and painting since childhood but only since retirement has there been sufficient time to pursue art as a pastime. 


He attended life classes at The City and Guilds School of Art in the 1960s but is largely self-taught.


John is a member of Croydon Art Society and was vice chairman of Bromley Art Society and exhibits regularly with both Societies and has also exhibited at the Wrotham Art Festival and the Sutton Art Festival.


He works in watercolour and acrylic covering a wide range of subjects.
