Sue Fawthrop’s work is about mood and atmosphere. She is inspired by the Chiltern landscape around her home, regularly visits North Wales and Dorset and never travels anywhere without a sketchbook. On site sketches, usually in pen and watercolour with notes about weather, sounds and events are developed into paintings in oils, acrylic and collage in the studio. Her interest is in creating an exciting image with a sense of mystery, leaving some questions unanswered for the viewer to ponder. Most of her work is land or seascape but she also studies the human form in portraits and life studies. Sue is a member of Bucks Art Society and a regular exhibitor with Wycombe Court Artists and shows her work in several galleries. She can be contacted through her Website. |
