| Sally Crosthwaite has both loved and painted flowers from a very early age. Since 1994 she has concentrated full time on book illustration, cards, porcelain and exhibiting her paintings in galleries in London and around the world, and won many accolades and awards for her work. | |

Sally was awarded a DISTINCTION on the Diploma Course of Botanical Illustration at the English Gardening School at The Chelsea Physic Garden in London. Sally was also awarded an RHS GOLD MEDAL for paintings of eight plants in the Iridaceae family and a further shared RHS Gold Medal for three of her paintings as part of a group collection with The Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society. Sally is a Founder Member of this Forilegium Society, whose aims are to paint all the plants in the Physic Garden for their Archives. Fourteen of her paintings have been selected for this. |

Sally's tulip and fruit paintings appear on sixteen Carolyn Sheffield porcelain plates and four of her tulips were chosen for a Limoges dinner service. Her work has been acquired by the world's largest collection of botanical art at the Hunt Institute in Pittsburgh, USA. Sally's work features in several books: The Origin of Plants; Tulipmania; National Garden Scheme Yellow Book 2001; Arte y Botanica; and features in a chapter of The Art of Botanical Painting by Margaret Stevens available in November and published by Harper Collins in association with The Society of Botanical Artists of which Sally is a member. |

Sally was one of three botanical artists filmed by Channel 4 TV at the Chelsea Flower Show 1999. Sally has exhibited extensively in group exhibitions in West End of London and New York, Pittsburgh USA, Munich, Sweden and Tasmania, and her work is held in private collections in USA, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and France. |
