John Ashton's alter ego ERIK has been drawing cartoons for as long as he can remember. Most of his work was produced during his career as an RAF navigator and so, naturally, aircraft and the RAF are subjects in which he is well versed. In his lifetime, ERIK has produced literally hundreds of cartoons to meet a variety of requirements: to advertise, to enhance training, to commemorate important or humorous events, and to mark individual, personal achievements. They have often been commissioned as original and unique farewell gifts.

His most recent work is
"The Aircraft Collection"
- a set of limited edition prints
of the following aircraft:

    • Hercules, No. 47 Sqn, Sierra Leone.
    • C-17 Globemaster, No. 99 Sqn.
    • Tristar, No. 216 Sqn.
    • Chinook, 7 Sqn.
    • Sentry, 8 Sqn.

ERIK's work is not limited to aircraft and he accepts commissions for cartoon illustration of any subject. Such commissions can be useful in a variety of ways; as a unique and very personal leaving present, as illustrations for a book, as advertising material or as a gift for that special occasion. Whatever your need, simply provide the artist with a clear brief on requirements and he will do the rest.
